Trick or treat! It’s time to go door to door and grab some Halloween candy. But what candy will make you the most popular stop in your neighborhood? It depends.
Favorite Halloween Candy
According to Delish and Peapod, the most popular Halloween candy is Kit Kats, followed by the ever-controversial candy corn. (People seem to love candy corn or despise it. There’s rarely a middle ground.)
Other top snacks include Milky Ways, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and Butterfingers. However, this can vary by region. A survey from Influenster.com found that the 50 states and Washington, D.C. tend to have different picks for their favorite candy.
No matter what candy you’re chewing on, it’s important to stay safe. AAA recommends that on Halloween, drivers should avoid neighborhoods with trick or treaters, watch for children in the street, and drive slow and sober.
In 2015, 52 percent of all car accident deaths on Halloween involved drunk drivers, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. AAA says call a taxi or designate a sober driver instead. If you can’t get home? Sleep over at a friend’s house or a hotel.
